Buying Policy

We purchase gently-used clothing for kids, from preemie sizes to 14/16, as well as gently used maternity clothing. 

Our social media is the quickest and easiest way to see what items we are purchasing! Check it out here!

How does it work?

We know you are busy, so you never need an appointment to bring things in! First, check the most recent buying post on our socials to see what items we need. 

Then, simply drop off those items with staff during our open hours. We will call or text you once your items have been assessed!

You will be offered two options: 

Cash (30 % of selling price) 

or 

Store credit (35 % of selling price). 

*Cash payments may be offered either in store from the register, or via e-transfer. Please allow 7 days for e-transfers to be sent.*

You will have 72 hours to pick up the items we don't wish to purchase, or we can donate them for you.

All gently used clothing MUST be:

CLEAN/Freshly laundered

stain free

free of holes/rips

odour free (smoke, mildew, mothballs, other strong scents, etc.) 

free of pet hair

wrinkle free

functioning zippers, buttons, etc.

Items must be in a bin, basket, box or structured bag. ***NO PLASTIC BAGS PLEASE, these will not be accepted.***

We also ask that clothing be limited to 1-2 bins maximum per visit in order for us to get through items in a timely fashion.

Clothing items should look new and contemporary in style (i.e. generally less than 5 years old). 

We know it’s easy to overlook a stain or small tear at home, so please don’t be offended if we reject an item. By ensuring the quality of all merchandise, every shopper can be confident of buying clean, high-quality items.

Accessories:

We purchase small accessories only, such as sound machines, carriers, monitors, etc. 

Please include batteries where possible. Items should not be older than 5+ years, and included manuals are appreciated.

No bouncers, excersaucers, high chairs, will be purchased due to limited available floor space.

Items must meet current Canadian Safety Standards and must NOT be recalled. 

Items must have all parts, and be in clean and working order.

Brand name clothing, outerwear and footwear from Preemie to size 14-16

(please note that larger kids sizes are generally limited to specific current styles and brand names only)

Maternity – modern styles that focus on comfortable and casual style

Costumes (in fall only)

Swimwear (spring/summer only)

Dancewear

Sports clothing/gear in selective and limited quantities

Please, no Big Box brands like George (Wal-Mart), Circo (Target), Dollarama, Giant Tiger, etc.

Shoes

Carriers, swaddlers, slings, etc. Other equipment that is new in package may be accepted

What we DO NOT buy:

At Re-Sprout safety is a top priority. We are not able to buy items which do not meet current Canadian Safety Standards (i.e. recalls), or;

Stained, pilling, or out-of-date items

large baby equipment (bouncers, etc)

Toys

Books and dvds

Clothing in garbage/grocery bags. (All clothing must be neatly placed in a plastic bin or basket, unless being donated).

Car seats, booster seats, or mattresses

Cribs

Bikes

Breast pumps or bottle warmers (unless new-in-box)

Electronic toys

Games or puzzles

Helmets

Outdoor swing sets

Stuffed animals 

Underwear or socks (unless new with tags)

Walkers

No time to sort? Just want your space back?

We will gladly accept donations of gently used items in boxes. Any items unusable by us will be donated to a local charity. Whether they aren't what we are looking for or damaged, all usable items will be reused or recycled.
